Tips on Wearing Poochey Shoos:
- It may take a few times of wearing "shoos" for yoru pooch to get used to walking in them. Like human shoes, Poochey Shoos will become al little more flexible one "broken in". Therefore, a little practice and patience goes a long way!
- The first few times your pooch wears "shoos" its likely they will rapidly shake their front paws or simply "freeze" and not want to move. Do not get discouraged. This behaviour is normal until they are accustomed to wearing the "shoos".
- Start with having your dog wear Poochey Shoos for a short period of time and then gradually increase each time worn thereafter. Once you put the "shoos" on your pooch, immediately follow with encouragement, a walk or playtime. Make sure they associate wearing the "shoos" with fun. Some training with positive reinforcement may be needed until your pooch adjusts having something on it's paws.
- Closely supervise your pooch when they first start wearing the "shoos" as dogs inherently have a tendency to chew.
- To put on "shoos", open the shoe wide, place the paw in using your pointer finger to help gude the paw down into the "shoo" (like a shoe horn). Have your pooch place its weight on the paw to ensure a proper fit. Then put the tongue in place and secrely wrap the velcro strap.
- Place the included set of innersoles in each of the back "shoos" to adjust the 8-12% size difference that most dog paws have (optional). Again, have your dog place their weight evenly on all paws to ensure the "shoos" are properly fitting each paw.
- While Poochey Shoos are real shoes and can offer protection to your dogs paws, as with any other dog accessory product, they are still a vovelty and your dog should be supervised at all times while wearing them.
